When dealing with sick or stress trees one of the main areas we look at is the root system. An Air Spade is used to remove the soil around the base of the tree to expose the roots for inspection. The reason the Air Spade is so effective is that it will remove the soil around the roots without causing damage. Many times this is where the problem is found. After the soil is removed the Arborist will perform a thorough inspection of the root system. Samples of root tissue are sometimes removed and sent to a lab for analysis to help identify specific root disorders, such as; armalaria, verticilium Phytopthora and a host of other pathogen that require lab analysis for detection. Root girdling is another common problem found when roots are exposed and can be corrected at the same time. Once the problem is identified, our staff will go over the results with you and design a treatment plan that best fits your needs.
